About Us
Brain Camp is designed and run by Study Dynamics LLC, an educational consultancy based in Shoreline, Washington. Since 2004, this academic skill-building program has been enhancing the personal development, confidence and independence of students, by providing effective tools and strategies to support their learning.
Sara Kuhl, M.Ed., is the founder of Study Dynamics LLC and the creator of Brain Camp. She's a passionate educator with over 30 years of experience teaching and helping students of all ages to find more successful ways to learn.
Sara started her career as a high school English teacher, she taught at the junior college level, was a researcher for
MN Department of Children, Families and Learning, developed curriculum, supervised a highly-regarded educational center and directed an alternative learning plan for a large public school district.
Sara's firsthand experiences made her recognize the need for deliberate and systematic instruction in study and organizational skills. She observed that lack of these "how-to" skills created frustration and procrastination in students, diminished their self-confidence and led to poor school performance.
The comprehensive Brain Camp program was developed to address this need, compiling all the best research, strategies, tactics and tools to motivate and produce strong academic achievement.
Study Dynamics LLC works with schools, school districts and directly with parents. Our instructors are all qualified teachers with classroom experience who go through a 16 hour training program to prepare them to facilitate the Brain Camp program. They are selected in large part because they really connect with young people, enjoy working with them and contributing to their success. Our talented teachers employ their professional skills to determine the needs of the class, set the priorities and pace of instruction, and provide individualized coaching to help each student progress.
